Lina Mendoni is a Greek archaeologist and academic who has served as the Minister of Culture and Sports of Greece since 2019. She was born on January 5, 1954, in Athens, Greece and has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, a Master's degree in Classical Archaeology, and a Ph.D. in Ancient Greek Archaeology.
Mendoni has held various positions in the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, including Director of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens and Piraeus, and Director of the National Archaeological Museum. She has also served as a professor of archaeology at the University of Athens.
During her tenure as Minister of Culture and Sports, Mendoni has been involved in various initiatives to promote cultural heritage and tourism in Greece. She has also been a vocal advocate for the return of stolen artifacts to Greece, including the Parthenon Marbles currently held by the British Museum.
